WHO WE ARE

Established in 1932, the Maryland Transportation Builders & Materials Association (MTBMA) serves as the voice for Maryland’s transportation, construction, and materials industries. With over 200 members across various sectors, we advocate for the interests of over 30,000 regional employees.

The transportation, construction, and materials sectors are instrumental in propelling many projects in both private and public sectors, which in turn propel our state’s economy. Amidst historic elections, significant transformations, and system improvements, MTBMA continues to actively engage with agencies, organizations, and businesses, boldly positioned as the Voice of the Transportation Industry.

As the preeminent industry voice in Maryland, MTBMA maintains an active role all year long. Consistency is key in the political realm. If you don’t continue to show up, your issues and concerns are forgotten. The MTBMA PAC makes a lasting impact in the legislative arena, and we continue to fight for a well-funded and maintained transportation system throughout the state.

OUR PRIORITIES

Advocacy for Increased Funding

MTBMA champions increased funding for all transportation modes in Maryland by:

  • Supporting legislation to boost transportation investment
  • Opposing regulatory barriers that add project delays and drive up costs
  • Backing major infrastructure projects to boost the economy and create jobs
  • Engaging in key discussions that explore innovative funding solutions to address the state’s fiscal challenges

Crucial Communication with Legislators

The MTBMA PAC has a robust presence in Annapolis with strong legislative & government relationships.

Our advocacy efforts have contributed to an estimated $233.2 million increase in the Transportation Trust Fund revenues.

Coalition Outreach
and Grassroots Advocacy

The MTBMA PAC aligns with the Together for Transportation Funding Coalition – a group of diverse transportation experts & stakeholders committed to solving the transportation funding crisis in Maryland.

Along with the TTF Coalition, the MTBMA PAC spearheads a variety of initiatives that result in billboards, mass digital campaigns, frequent events, thousands of letters to legislators, and unified messaging campaigns.

Engagement with Stakeholders
and Community

Above all else, the MTBMA PAC values industry voices, and amplifies them – whether that is through testimony at regional planning boards, at legislative hearings, or through valuable meetings – our industry is heard.
